Watch the videos and learn there is no wrong way. Test different lengths of bouncing rods and conduit pipes. Make your decoy move as much or as little as you want.

Used decoy on a DYI hunt in North Dakota. Brought the swans in close for shot. So glad I bought and used it and my goal successful. If it weren’t for the decoy it wouldn’t have happened I’m sure of it. If you get a Swan tag. GET AT LEAST ONE OF THESE. YOU WILL BE GLAD YOU DID.
